Today we are giving the love to our bride Ellie Brien. We just think she’s adorable in this tea length Stella York gown and the story of how she and her hubby Hugh met made us a smile.
Ellie and Hugh actually met at, of all places, an Anti-Valentines Day dance! After college the couple had a long distance relationship – she was in Florida, he was in Virginia. Upon becoming engaged, Ellie decided to make the leap and move to Virginia. On a trip to visit her daughter, Ellie and her mom were casually strolling the streets of Old Town Manassas and found our salon by means of, as Ellie says, “a happy accident.” Here’s her story:
“My dress was hanging in the window. We walked in to look at it and Amy was so helpful. She even gave us a book about weddings in NoVA (bridesandweddings.com) and information about the area. Since we didn’t have a wedding date set yet, I decided not to try on the dress but always thought about it.”
“I have always loved the retro look of a tea length wedding dress. Six months later my mother flew back up from Florida to help me shop for my wedding gown. We went back to Amy’s and the dress was still there! I was in and out in 15 minutes. It was the only dress I tried on and I knew exactly what I wanted.”
Some things are just meant to be – like meeting the love of your life in a most unusual setting and finding the perfect gown still waiting for you. Ellie and Hugh tied the knot on July 6, 2018 at All Saints Church in Manassas. Congratulations and best wishes for a long, happy marriage! And thank you for choosing Amy’s Bridal for your very special dress.
